Before long, the prayer group was on the move reaching out to more people. The rapid rate at which the prayer group grew in numerical strength brought the need for a bigger place of worship. In response to the need, the prayer group moved into a room at the Langley Park Community Center. In the course of time, the leaders of the prayer group decided to transform the prayer group into a PCG Congregation.

Soon after launching the congregation, the name “Adom Presbyterian Church” was adapted through a democratic debate over initial suggestion of “Grace Presbyterian Church”. ADOM was carried because the group wished to retain the Ghanaian basis of the congregation. As an integral part of the newly named church’s life and witness, the leaders’ resolved to evangelize among other Ghanaians living within the Hyattsville, College Park, Silver Spring and Laurel vicinities. As the outreach was yielding fruits and bringing new members, the meeting place for the congregation changed twice after the first gathering before finally settling at the current meeting place, Adelphi Elementary School in Adelphi, MD. 

In the quest to make the church as functional as the church grew, the founding fathers in 2001 collectively nominated some members to serve as leaders of the newly constituted church. An election was held to enable and expand the existing session and fully integrate other members into the congregation. The election resulted in the first elected presbyters:

The presbyters were inducted into office by Rev. Dr. Gyan Duah, the then Clerk of the General Assembly of PCG during a consecration service on May 25, 2002. 

The 2nd session was elected in 2008 and was inducted into office by Rev. Aminah on March 8, 2008. The presbyters were:

Since its inception, the zeal and commitment to duty exhibited by the founders and subsequent presbyters has brought about the formation of the important organizations in the church. The church therefore functions through its generational and service groups. The groups are:

After the instigation of the PCG Adom, two PCG Ministers who supported PCG Adom in its growth are Revs. Appiah-Dankwa and Kofi Karikari. Rev Appiah-Dankwa supported the church in its formative years and initial outreach. Rev. Karikari directed and counseled the congregation until it was inaugurated and ushered into the North American Overseas Mission Field (OMF-NA).

Currently, the numerical strength of the congregation stands at over one hundred (100) members. Out of the over one-hundred registered members, approximately seventy (70) are active members.  The year 2018 marks the 18th milestone in the life of PCG Adom Congregation. The eighteen (18) year journey which started in 2000 has been a roller coaster but we all join the writer of twi hymn 276 in singing “Asem a yekura mu yi ye Yesu Kristo de.”
